VIROTEC GLOBAL SOLUTIONS

Long-Term Strategic Agreements

Virotec Global Solutions Pty Ltd is pleased to announce that it has entered into long-term strategic greements with three partners in the Asia-Pacific region. The three agreements allow for Virotec’s services to be provided to customers in South Korea, Philippines and New Zealand.

South Korea

In South Korea, Virotec has entered into a five year strategic partnership with Geoenvirotec Co. Ltd., based in Daegu. Virotec has been conducting business with Geoenvirotec since 2002, and has helped implement several large-scale projects in Korea, including the Ulsan gold mine site remediation project and the CheongJu City highway run-off project. The current agreement extends to Geoenvirotec the right to implement Virotec’s Basecon Technology and to manufacture Virotec’s complete range of environmental products in Korea. The new production facility in Korea is expected to be operational in 2010.

“We have been working with Dr Jeongyul Suh, the CEO of Geoenvirotec Co. Ltd., and his team in Daegu since 2002,” said Dr Lee Fergusson, Virotec’s CEO, “and his efforts have been enormously successful in solving some of the important recent environmental remediation projects conducted in Korea in the last ten years. We are delighted to have extended our strategic relationship with Geoenvirotec to include implementation of our full range of technologies, including the conversion of the stockpiled caustic waste alumina refinery residue which exists in Korea. We look forward to many more years of fruitful cooperation.”

Philippines

In the Philippines, Virotec has entered into a five-year strategic alliance with JM Ecotech Ltd, based in Manila. Virotec has also been conducting business with JM Ecotech for some years, and has supplied several container loads of ElectroBind reagent for waste treatment projects in the Philippines. This service has now been expanded to also include the implementation of Bauxsol Technology in the Philippines, which means that JM Ecotech are now licensed to manufacture Virotec’s complete range of 16 environmental remediation and waste treatment products in Manila. Virotec will continue to provide Bauxsol Raw Material, the primary raw material for all of Virotec’s reagents, to JM Ecotech from Virotec’s production facilities in Australia, but may also begin providing raw material from South Korea as the production facility there comes on line in 2010.

“We have been very encouraged by the initial work conducted by JM Ecotech in the Philippines in the last year or so,” said Daniel Blair, Virotec General Manager. “We have conducted two training sessions in Australia for JM Ecotech’s staff, and we have extended the range of technology solutions to be offered in the Philippines through JM Ecotech in the last few months in order to expand our joint business in that country. We expect to be doing more work in waste treatment in the Philippines in the coming years.”

New Zealand

In New Zealand, Virotec has entered into a strategic partnership with Prime Trading based in Auckland. Virotec has conducted several projects in New Zealand in partnership with Prime Trading and has hosted visits and training in Australia to Prime Trading personnel. Virotec intends to expand its services in New Zealand in 2010. “Prime Trading has proven a most reliable and important partner for Virotec,” said Daniel Blair, “and we hope to expand the work we do together in 2010, with increased cooperative efforts between our two companies going forward.”
